A Pupil Referral Unit based in Croydon is seeking to appoint a HTLA / Cover Supervisor on a long term basis for a minimum of 2 terms. This will be a long term position for the right candidate starting immediately.

This specialist unit provides for KS4 students only with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. The majority of students who attend have been permanently excluded from mainstream or special schools; some are returning to full time education after a period of custody in young offender institutions also. A very small minority have statements of special educational needs.

Students are provided with a last chance to succeed in their final year of compulsory education and this successfully works even with the severe difficulties that they have experienced in mainstream education, most students successfully grasp the opportunities they are offered and with the excellent links the unit has with local training providers; this enables a large proportion of students to move into further education, training or employment.
